Real Nashville Wedding: Camille + Jesse

August 25, 2010

Beautiful wedding, beautiful couple. Enjoy these images from Camille and Jesse’s wedding right here in Nashville.

WedCandy: What was the inspiration for your lovely wedding?

Camille: Sofia Coppola’s Marie Antoinette….the mix of vintage decadence with a little bit of punk rock – perfect.

WC: How did you pick your colors?

C: The reception site was an event space that was a renovated car factory from the early 1900’s. There were dark wooden beams, industrial windows, a lot of dark, rich browns and dark steel; so I knew that I wanted to contrast it with light colors. I used every shade between pure white and light coral/pink. Ivories, beiges, faded vintage floral prints, etc… My maid of honor wore a vintage dress from the 40’s that was champagne (which looked beautiful on her brown skin).

WC: Is there anything you would change?

C: I would have had more flowers…but knowing me, there could never be enough fresh flowers. Haha.

WC: Who helped you pull it all off?

C: The Pink Monkey. They are the best kept secret in Nashville. I wanted my wedding to be completely unique, and I could not have done it without their creativity.

WC: What was your favorite detail?

C: The canvas bags that hung on every chair as gifts for our guests…and the place-cards, there were thirty different versions and they were HUGE! It’s hard to pick one detail when there were so many….

WC: Were you able to really enjoy the day?

C: Oh, yes! I’ll never forget it!

WC: Any advice for brides?

C: Nothing is worth distracting you from enjoying the day. I even kicked my high heels off at the alter because they were starting to distract me – it ended up being everyones favorite part of the ceremony! In fact, the right attitude can make the things that go “wrong” become some of your favorite memories.

Real Wedding – Liz & Mark, Birmingham, AL

June 2, 2010

Deep purple hues and teal accessories made this wedding one of the most divine.   This outdoor affair had its traditional aspects along with its very unique quirks that only showed the personality of the bride and groom at it’s finest.  Deep purple accents adorned the wardrobe of the groomsmen and bridesmaids along with the sexy stilettos of the bride and svelte sock of the groom.  Thought went into every detail.  The bride wore a traditional mermaid style gown that made her look radiant as her lace veil only complimented her antique jewels.  The groom wore the traditional tux that allowed the bride to the showstopper she was meant to be.  Guests were surrounded by purple orchids, blue hydrangea and pale pink roses – which were accented with silver lanterns during the outdoor ceremony.  The bride and groom wed under a wooden gazebo with beautifully strung white lights.  Simple and understated yet giving focus to the ceremony.  The reception was poolside with a black and white damask theme that mimicked the bride and grooms invitations, wedding programs and favors.  Modern purple and white paper lanterns where intertwined with antique chandeliers hung from the traditional white tent.  The teal cake with white damask trim was the statement of the entire reception – almost too beautiful to touch.

This couple had it all – modern, traditional and vintage – reflecting their own personalities with a statement of colors and accessories.
