When I found out J Crew had a wedding line I knew I had to feature one of their dresses. This vintage inspired dress is perfect for a bridesmaid because she can wear it again as a cocktail dress or a night out on the town. It’s wrap front, shift silhouette and cutaway hem are great for all body types and the brocade blue goes with almost every skin tone. Adding a classic pair of peep-toe pumps lets you have a little more fun with the jewelry. A textured bangle and some bohemian inspired earrings complete the look. Brides, don’t forget about makeup for your girls, how about providing them with their own lipstick and mascara throughout the day for touch-ups. e.l.f has some great products and I’ve been using them for a over a year now, most of their products are between $1.00 and $5.00. I use their lipstick and love it! I came across the Rimmel mascara at my cousins wedding last month. I was a bridesmaid and all the girls were raving about it, as they should, I tried it and was hooked. It really does give the appearance of longer lashes and coats perfectly. Lastly, my new favorite fragrance for the past couple of months has been Light Blue by Dolce & Gabbana. It’s light, fresh, wears easy and would make a great gift for your bridesmaids!
There is nothing I love more than a modern & chic wedding! Phil & Diana were married in beautiful Tacoma, Washington. The couple chose baby blue as their accent color, which worked perfectly with the white, metal & glass backdrop of the Glass Museum & Hotel Murano! Enjoy these amazing images by Jinda Photography.
Preparing for your Spring 2012 wedding? If so, I’m sure you can find something you love in this inspirational shoot. The pinks, blues & greens…so pretty! Enjoy these amazing images by Kaylee Eylander Photography.
Love the idea of the “effortless everyone wears a different bridesmaid dress” look but you are unsure of how to go about it? Well, look no further! Today’s color story is Blue. Every bride has bridesmaids in all shapes and sizes. Instead of trying to find one look to compliment all of them pick dresses in shades of your wedding colors and make the dresses fit your girls! You want to have great pictures, right? Your bridesmaids are an important part of having a really great picture book of your most special day!
For this example the bride’s colors can be seen in the earrings her bridesmaids are all wearing: NAVY/SKY BLUE. This color story begins with a fun and flirty bride who has chosen a Valentino Silk-organza strapless dress from Net-A-Porter. To compliment her look she has chosen short dresses in varying shades of blue. All of these styles work together because not only do they complement each other within the same color palette but they also share the same hemline. By having all the girls hem their dresses to the same length, a cohesive look is possible.
For your own wedding do you dream in shades of cobalt and aquamarine? When choosing a blue theme for your wedding party, remember to choose shades that complement skin tones. Never choose a blue that can be described as SHOCKING!! You and your wedding photos will thank you in the end.
I love this beautiful twist on a Fall wedding by Josh & Laura in Oklahoma City. They incorporated royal blue in with all the traditional Fall colors, which is stunning. Enjoy these images by Holli B Photography.
