Deep purple hues and teal accessories made this wedding one of the most divine. This outdoor affair had its traditional aspects along with its very unique quirks that only showed the personality of the bride and groom at it’s finest. Deep purple accents adorned the wardrobe of the groomsmen and bridesmaids along with the sexy stilettos of the bride and svelte sock of the groom. Thought went into every detail. The bride wore a traditional mermaid style gown that made her look radiant as her lace veil only complimented her antique jewels. The groom wore the traditional tux that allowed the bride to the showstopper she was meant to be. Guests were surrounded by purple orchids, blue hydrangea and pale pink roses – which were accented with silver lanterns during the outdoor ceremony. The bride and groom wed under a wooden gazebo with beautifully strung white lights. Simple and understated yet giving focus to the ceremony. The reception was poolside with a black and white damask theme that mimicked the bride and grooms invitations, wedding programs and favors. Modern purple and white paper lanterns where intertwined with antique chandeliers hung from the traditional white tent. The teal cake with white damask trim was the statement of the entire reception – almost too beautiful to touch.
This couple had it all – modern, traditional and vintage – reflecting their own personalities with a statement of colors and accessories.

So you’re getting married in Nashville and last thing on your plate during your wedding week should be scrambling to entertain your out-of-town family during festivity downtime. Worry not – with a little advance planning, you can show them a good time without having to babysit. Nashville is a one-of-a-kind city, so send them out and show it off!
Here are a few suggestions to get you started…
1. The Country Music Hall of Fame – This may be so obvious you don’t even think about it. But that doesn’t make it any less awesome. You don’t have to be a Rascal Flatts fanatic to appreciate or enjoy this amazing museum. Just as long as you like music. Great space, great exhibits, great history… and there’s always the off-chance that someone like the Oak Ridge Boys will be on site, signing autographs. Oh, and while you’re downtown, don’t miss the Ryman Auditorium, Tootsie’s Orchid Lounge and/or Hatch Show Print – all within walking distance of the CMHOF.
2. Nash Trash Tour – You will probably not want to send your most conservative relatives here. But if you want to give a good survey of the city whilst being entertained by two fiesty old ladies, whilst riding in a giant pink bus, look no further than here.
3. Tour the Stars’ Homes – It may sound cheesy, but it will make Aunt Wanda’s year to be able to say she saw where Dolly Parton lives… or Jack White, Nichole Kidman and Little Jimmy Dickens.**
4. Jack Daniel’s Distillery – About an hour outside of Nashville, but a SCENIC hour outside Nashville. See were America’s most famous distilled beverage is made… or just enjoy some American history. Unfortunately for Aunt Wanda it’s a dry county, so tell her to bring her our own flask.
5. The Hermitage – Home of the 7th president of the United States, Andrew Jackson. A beautiful historic home, chock-full of history. And if the weather’s nice, a nice stroll around the lovely Hermitage grounds could provide hours of enjoyment.
In short, there are plenty of great ways for your guests to invest in our beautiful city. Urge them to leave the hotel lobby. This may be the one time they ever see Nashville, so help them make it count!

We all know about the tragic flooding that took place recently here in Nashville. The cost of this catastrophe is estimated at $1.5 billion and rising. Several lives were lost and thousands of homes were damaged or destroyed. Nashvillians have been pulling together like never before, helping their neighbors and staying positive and hopeful for the future. We have been through mandatory water conservations, loss of power, and blocked roadways together. The most heart warming and amazing thing we have seen has been the positive outlook Tennesseans have kept through all of these hardships.
We here at WedCandy have been helping where we can. We’ve been donating our time and helping our neighbors as much as possible, just like many of you. Last week we decided to put together a fund raiser to help raise money for flood relief and rebuilding. We came up with this little saying, “You can’t keep a good town down”. This seemed to convey the positive attitudes and eagerness to volunteer we keep seeing over and over again here in Nashville. When we started thinking about how to raise money for the cause we decided to use this little quote in our final concept. We thought a commemorative poster would be an affordable and easy way to help generate donations. The first person we called was our friend Alex Pearson with Family Tree Design & Illustration. Alex is an amazing illustrator and an extremely talented local designer. Alex was on board from the first mention of the poster and we relied on his artistic eye to create the iconic floating guitar concept that so clearly expresses what our town has been through. After working out the details with Alex we made a call to one of our favorite local print shops, Midtown Printing. Midtown operates a great website for quick and easy poster printing called ShortRunPosters.com. Once we talked with them about our concept for the poster they graciously offered to cover all printing costs for the first 100 poster.
The finished product is displayed below. We hope you all love this limited edition poster as much as we do. We also hope you will take a moment to visit the poster site, take a closer look at the artwork and, if possible, purchase a print. All proceeds from the poster go directly to The Community Foundation of Middle Tennessee’s Flood Relief Fund. We’ve already raised well over $1000 from poster sales, that’s just the beginning, let’s make it $10,000! Also, be sure to become a fan on the Facebook page!
