Wedding Inspiration Served Up Daily

At WedCandy, we feel that trends can range from gowns to shoes to makeup designs.  But today we venture a little outside the box and talk about one trend hitting local weddings.  It’s not a designer dress or a new bouquet of flowers…. its the guest book.  You are always wanting one unique way to keep a solid memory of all of the guests that attended your wedding – well, let me introduce you to the idea of the photo booth.  This is one way that allows your guest to leave you a picture with a personal message of happily ever afters and also lets your guests have a souvenir from your wedding to take home with themselves as well.  You can turn these photo booth images into your guest book by adding them to one special album that you will treasure forever.  This is scrap-booking at its finest, but you are letting your guests have all the creativity.  Visit The Classic Photobooth or Photobooth Nashville who are both sweeping the Nashville Wedding scene.

Have you attended a wedding where you used a Photo Booth?  Tell us about it! Also, have you used a photo guest book?  Submit us your picture…. we would LOVE to see your creativity!

Boys will be Boys – Remembering the Groom

by Jenn Ward on July 15, 2010

Most of the joy and celebration for a Wedding is usually around the bride.  That is very understandable – with showers and gifts flowing in her direction from the day the engagement ring was placed on her finger until she walks down the aisle.  It’s a constant celebration.  During that time, its always fascinating to see how the groom is involved.  Whether it’s with a couples shower or just a few of the guys hanging out.  But one idea that’s always a fabulous idea is getting all the guys together for an afternoon – and going to get a close shave.  I have learned that this is something all men find as a treat, but not many actually do for themselves.  Why don’t you take a trip to your local Uncle Classic Babershop.  With now two locations in Nashville – Brentwood and Belle Meade – there should be one close by.  For under 40 bucks each of your groom and groomsmen can be treated to a straight razor shave with all the trimmings.  Truly, a guy should feel pampered too!

Home away from Home – Destination Weddings

by Jenn Ward on July 8, 2010

A peaceful beach setting.  A beautiful sunset along the mountains.  A place you call home for one weekend and a place you will know forever in your heart.  That place is no where close to your “real” home and where so many brides are finding their joy in destination weddings.  According to Conde Nast, 1 in 10 brides will have a destination this year alone.  An average that has been unmatched from previous years.  Brides are now moving toward the coast and beyond – think Paris, think the Eiffel tower as your setting.  That alone can take your breath away.

With the change in “home away from home” local – a brides attire will change as well.  We go from the elaborate ball gowns, with exquisite beading and 10 ft train to simple and gorgeous gowns.  The beach calls for flowy fabrics with details that will speak volumes in your pictures.  The city scape calls for short t-length vintage lace gowns with a shoe choice that will kick with personality.

There is a place and space for everyone.  It’s just finding it and making it your own.
