Spa Day with your Best Ladies!

by Amanda Jerkins on August 2, 2010

Sure – treating your bridesmaids to a spa day is not a new idea, but today’s post is merely to serve as a reminder that the gals still love it. What better way to say ”thanks for being in my wedding” than a little pampering? These girls have flown from Timbuktu, hired babysitters, joined a gym (to fit into that dress you swear is ‘flattering on everyone’), made cupcakes for you shower, etc. In other words, they deserve it! Your big spa day can include everything from a full day of treatment – which typically offers a massage, facial, manicure and pedicure – or you can opt for the mani/pedi combo. Some spas serve lunch and girlie drinks or sometimes allow you to bring in your own foods and drinks. Make it a party – your girls will love it!

There is no shortage of fabulous salon/spas in Nashville. Here are a few we entrust our tootsies to:

Local Glam – The Bride Room, Nashville

by Jenn Ward on July 29, 2010

“Couture for the Bride”.  Spoken gracefully and oh so honestly by Nashville’s very own Charlotte Poling, owner of  The Bride Room.  Charlotte’s boutique originally launched in the corners of Franklin, TN but soon made its way to a cozy little spot in Green Hills.  Couture is what we call it and Green Hills is THE spot for Nashville Couture.  With her fabulous team of Stephanie and Amy, these three girls make up what The Bride Room is all about.  The boutique just radiates grace. With its clean lines, antique chandeliers and rows of white dresses.  The only focus is you and your gown.  Nothing messy, nothing overstated… just pure perfection.  The selection of gowns seems unlimited.  Carrying couture names such as Melissa Sweet, Agusta Jones, Amsale and Monique Lhuillier only to name a few.  They carry not only beautiful and elegant wedding gowns, but will also take care of the needs of your maids and all of your accessories.  All items are hand picked each season and will fit you perfectly with whatever style you may have.

Visit The Bride Room in Green Hills Village.

Tuesday’s Trendwatch – Tea Length Dresses

by Jenn Ward on July 27, 2010

Short and Sweet.  Short and Sassy.  Short and just plain gorgeous.  No matter how you look at it, tea length dresses are just stunning.  Its a simple and classic way to go above the traditional wedding gown.  The tea length dresses are being worn in many different types of settings.  From the wedding at sunrise, the afternoon backyard affair to the 5:00 intimate gathering.  It just works.  Its also a wonderful way for a bride to show off her style.  Being able to show her shoes {you know how we love that!} as well as adding different accessories other then a traditional veil.  This would be a perfect opportunity to showcase a stunning hairpiece or many, many strands of pearls.  A tea length dresses is taking your day “out of the box” and making it speak for itself.  As we have always said, your dress speaks volumes.  Even though the tea length dress is a little short – it sure has got a lot of class.

Mismatched Wedding Bands

by Amanda Jerkins on July 23, 2010

Let’s start thinking about the perfect wedding band to accent that sparkly rock on your finger. You could go with the matching band to your show-stopping engagement ring… but that’s too easy. What about a mismatched band that makes the set a one-of-a-kind? This concept works best if you have an engagement ring with a simpler design. Mismatching is also a great way to add some color to your set. The next time you are paying a visit to the jeweler, take a look at the stacking rings - they are typically fun, colorful, and artfully designed rings meant for stacking a few on one finger. However, a single stacking ring is a great option for a wedding band.

There is no shortage of jewelers in Nashville, but after doing a little research, Anatra Jewel has the best selection.

The True Joy of a Real Engagement

by Jenn Ward on July 22, 2010

There is nothing more special then that exact moment.  The exact moment that your future husband pops the question.  It’s a moment that you want to freeze in time for all eternity.  A moment that you will replay over and over again in your mind for years to come.  A moment that you realize that your life is about to change for the better.

Whether you have been engaged or are already married  - you have to admit that you can still get butterflies hearing the story of “how it happened” and wanting to know every single little detail.  Some newly engaged couples are getting really creative on documenting these special moments.  Documenting them so that they can share with friends, family and for people like you.  We came across this video just the other day and have watched it too many times.  I hope this little peice of joy sparks that little butterfly that gets you even more excited for that journey of wedded bliss!
