Graceful Tables – Table Linens

December 14, 2011

Table linens might be something that you leave up to your wedding coordinator, but there are so many options that you might as well jump in and have a little fun!  Graceful Tables is a great source for high-quality linens if you live in Nashville or Atlanta.  They have everything from the classic white to an endless amount of color options.  Of course, me being a fan of the classic & elegant white, silver & gold hues, I picked a few of my favorites below.  Definitely check out Graceful Tables’ site to see the wide variety they offer.

Real Nashville Wedding: Camille + Jesse

August 25, 2010

Beautiful wedding, beautiful couple. Enjoy these images from Camille and Jesse’s wedding right here in Nashville.

WedCandy: What was the inspiration for your lovely wedding?

Camille: Sofia Coppola’s Marie Antoinette….the mix of vintage decadence with a little bit of punk rock – perfect.

WC: How did you pick your colors?

C: The reception site was an event space that was a renovated car factory from the early 1900’s. There were dark wooden beams, industrial windows, a lot of dark, rich browns and dark steel; so I knew that I wanted to contrast it with light colors. I used every shade between pure white and light coral/pink. Ivories, beiges, faded vintage floral prints, etc… My maid of honor wore a vintage dress from the 40’s that was champagne (which looked beautiful on her brown skin).

WC: Is there anything you would change?

C: I would have had more flowers…but knowing me, there could never be enough fresh flowers. Haha.

WC: Who helped you pull it all off?

C: The Pink Monkey. They are the best kept secret in Nashville. I wanted my wedding to be completely unique, and I could not have done it without their creativity.

WC: What was your favorite detail?

C: The canvas bags that hung on every chair as gifts for our guests…and the place-cards, there were thirty different versions and they were HUGE! It’s hard to pick one detail when there were so many….

WC: Were you able to really enjoy the day?

C: Oh, yes! I’ll never forget it!

WC: Any advice for brides?

C: Nothing is worth distracting you from enjoying the day. I even kicked my high heels off at the alter because they were starting to distract me – it ended up being everyones favorite part of the ceremony! In fact, the right attitude can make the things that go “wrong” become some of your favorite memories.

Spa Day with your Best Ladies!

August 2, 2010

Sure – treating your bridesmaids to a spa day is not a new idea, but today’s post is merely to serve as a reminder that the gals still love it. What better way to say “thanks for being in my wedding” than a little pampering? These girls have flown from Timbuktu, hired babysitters, joined a gym (to fit into that dress you swear is ‘flattering on everyone’), made cupcakes for you shower, etc. In other words, they deserve it! Your big spa day can include everything from a full day of treatment – which typically offers a massage, facial, manicure and pedicure – or you can opt for the mani/pedi combo. Some spas serve lunch and girlie drinks or sometimes allow you to bring in your own foods and drinks. Make it a party – your girls will love it!

There is no shortage of fabulous salon/spas in Nashville. Here are a few we entrust our tootsies to:

The Southern Gentleman – Billy Reid

April 16, 2010

Let’s face it, groomsmen have been getting the bum deal for years. Tux rentals? I mean come on. Extend the style of your wedding to the gents- they and your photographers will thank you for it! My favorite look these days for the men folk is that of the Southern gentleman. Seersucker, sharp cottons, subtle plaids, bow ties, vests, maybe even a set of suspenders here and there. If I had a group of men to outfit, my first stop would be Billy Reid. Not only is Nashville graced with one of their few stores, we are right up the interstate from Mr. Reid himself. His flagship store and his factory are right down the road in Florence, AL. The aesthetic his clothes provide is polished and modern, yet reminiscent of times past. Put your guys in these clothes and they will actually enjoy being a part of your wedding. Bonus: an addition to their wardrobe is a great way to say thanks for their participation.

Here are a few looks we pulled together that will be perfect for a Spring/Summer affair. Thanks to our model David Dewese, the staff at Billy Reid for letting us have the run of the place, and the ever fab Phindy Studios for the lovely shots.
