Tuesday’s Trendwatch – Short and Sweet

April 26, 2011

It’s the trend and that keeps on trending.  Short Bridal gowns are all the rage and designers, for this Fall, are focusing on these dresses more then ever.  Its the traditional gown, but the short length gives it that unique appeal.  Designers are keeping these dresses both simple and ornate – able to cater to any bridal need.  Melissa Sweet, continuing her quirky appeal, introduced sleeves – lace sleeves to be exact.  Not any girl can pull off sleeves, but this gives it that romantic appeal that we are all looking for.  Amsale kept it simply {gorgeous} and focused on streamlined designs with little to no fuss.  Badgley Mischka was the place to go for layers and the word that has been used over and over again as “froth”.  Layers upon layers that add such a visual appeal, almost looking back on the 40s flapper era.   But the best part about it, is you can continue to show off those fabulous shoes.  You know us, at WedCandy, love – love the shoes.

Truly there is something – some design – even if it is short and sweet, that can be catered to everyone.  Designers are tapping into each corner of the market to make sure all of your needs are being met.

Stay tuned to WedCandy for the Spring 2011 NYC Bridal Market recap and find out what the designers have for you next season!
