If you are in the Nashville or surrounding areas, you are in for a treat! The Skillery is presenting a new class, Stylist Secrets: Design Your Own Wedding Vignettes on September 17th! The class will be taught by the amazing Elizabeth Ulrich, who founded Stockroom Vintage. Below is a sneak peek at what all you will learn at the class but definitely check out the event site to learn more & register!
I love staying on top of trends and seeing what’s new but what’s important is to not overdo it. Neon has made a big return this summer and I think it’s quite fun. I would advise not spending a lot of money though on trendy items since they come and go so fast. I think it’s easiest to stick with accessories if you’re going to buy something trendy. Below are just a few ways you can incorporate some fun colorful pieces into your wedding, whether it’s for the bride, bridesmaids or a guest.
JCrew Shoes // H&M Sunglasses // Rag & Bone Makeup Bag // Audrey Clutch Shoulder Bag // Zoya Nail Polish Beach and Surf Collection // Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Lip Stain
Last month I attended the Modern Trousseau Nashville White Hot Summer Soiree, and what a party! Mary Claire, the store manager, did a fantastic job putting this event together. I was excited to see the space since I hadn’t been before and also see all of their beautiful gowns. Ladies, if you’re looking for a custom made wedding dress this is your place to shop. Each bridal design can be tailored to a bride’s individual style and all of the Nashville gowns are designed and made in the USA.
Rocket Fizz greeted us as we walked in the door with their artisan sodas and salt water taffy. We sipped white wine and champagne and had gourmet appetizer’s to snack on from Sambuca Catering. Julia from Scratch brought in macaroons, cupcakes and chocolate tortes that were divine. I might have had 2…or 3. 🙂
The night ended with a fashion show of some lovely Modern Trousseau bridal gowns and evening wear. The models were accompanied by “grooms” that were outfitted by J.Michael’s Clothiers. Brocade Designs completed the looks with boutonnieres and bouquet’s.
Thank you Mary Claire for throwing such a fabulous party, looking forward to the next one!

As far as wedding day baubles are concerned, I am a go big or go home kind of gal! However I also think the idea of wearing the same pearls earrings your mother wore on her wedding day is simply divine. The jewelry you wear on your wedding day should reflect your personality. For a contemporary look try oxidized sterling silver and diamonds. For a bohemian look wear glorious peacock feathers. If a classic look is more your style, you can never go wrong with pearls and semi-precious gemstones. As always the sky is the limit on how to adorn your lobes for that all important trip down the aisle! Here is a little eyecandy for your inspiration!!

A couple of weeks ago I had the chance to attend the Sephora Bridal Event at The Green Hills Mall in Nashville. Lindsey Monger of The Venue Store hosted the event and it was so fun! If you haven’t had a chance to check out The Venue Store please do. They are a local event booking and coordinating company. This is a fantastic service that Lindsey provides for not only brides but also corporate events. If you’re looking for a venue and don’t know where to begin simply email them with event specifics and they’ll do the rest, how easy is that?!
brought in delicious snacks for everyone to enjoy while they we browsed around the store. My favorite was the biscuit bar with ham and homemade preserves.
was there with cupcakes, apricot strudel and chocolate brownies, I tried the strudel and it heavenly.
Kelsey, a makeup artist with Sephora was giving complementary makeup applications. It was a big hit with the brides!
We all left with a gift bags from Sephora filled with lots of samples and fun makeup to play with. Thank you to Lindsey and Sephora for putting on a great event, I’m looking forward to the next one!
